THE SYSTEMS MATTER STORY (OR 'WHY THESE GUYS?')

I (James) am someone who’s read what seems to me like thousands of books and guides on systems, apps and productivity methods.

In short, I’ve done the courses, I’ve read the books, I’ve used the apps and I’ve even strayed into managing my then-girlfriend’s inbox (bad idea…)

Along the way, Sveta and I have also set up 3 businesses - and a key part of being able to do that has been the techniques and methodology we've learned through Natasha’s small business guides.

Through it all, the biggest challenge of all has been getting (my aforementioned-girlfriend, now-wife) Sveta, to abandon using her beloved Excel spreadsheets for everything from project management to budgeting - and instead embrace simple, versatile, built-for-purpose tools like Trello, Evernote and Asana.

TURNS OUT...

...It only works if everyone's on board.

See, Sveta’s a high-level, visual, big-picture thinker who, in her client-facing work as a Conversion Consultant in a London Marketing agency was well aware of the importance of effective systems.

But aside from being forced to track literally every.single.minute of her time, what put her off really getting on board with adopting systems in our business(es) was the feeling that we were constantly changing over to the latest, greatest tool when we needed to be focusing on actually doing the work.

Or, as she puts it...

“Seriously, you want me to learn how to manage our editorial calendar in ANOTHER tool!? I can’t be bothered when I could actually be doing the work it's supposed to be simplifying!"

And that was when it just kinda clicked for us.

What we were looking for was a way to collaborate more effectively to bring simplicity, ease and, most of all, effectiveness to our copywriting and website optimisation business.

Once we ditched the never-ending (and pointless) hunt for a silver bullet and applied Natasha’s methodology, we were able to develop our own simple, sustainable processes.

We now blend Asana & Evernote (my favourite of them all) together to manage our tasks & info - both business and personal - and it simply works.

Our goal now is to continually develop and improve the guides - so that you can get the best possible results for your business.
